KAIROS Motor Gallery

Cinematic scroll-driven 3D landing page for a hypercar gallery. Concept project.

Concept project. KAIROS is a fictional hypercar gallery in Dubai, made to show what a scroll-driven 3D website can do for a luxury brand. Every car, name and number on it is invented.

The idea

Cars like these are sold on atmosphere, not on spec sheets. So the page opens on a car hidden in a dark showroom. As you scroll, the lights come on, the camera circles the car, then pulls back to reveal the whole gallery and the city behind it. The scroll is the camera.

Scroll down and the camera circles the car; scroll back up and it turns back.

How it was built

  • A custom art direction: a dark showroom, rim-lit carbon bodywork and a night skyline, designed shot by shot for the story the page tells.
  • Every movement is tied to the scroll with GSAP ScrollTrigger and Lenis smooth scrolling, so visitors set the pace and can scroll back at any moment.
  • The heavy visual work runs off the main thread, so scrolling stays at 60 fps even on slower laptops.
  • Below the hero: a pinned horizontal car collection, a manifesto that lights up word by word, a services list with a photo that follows the cursor, and a booking form.

Made for phones too

On a phone the hero becomes a wide cinematic band with the words below it, the collection stacks vertically, and the navigation moves into a full-screen menu. Visitors who turn on reduced motion get a calm, static version of the page.

Four phone screens: the hero, the rear view of the car, the closing call to action and the full-screen menu

Performance

  • In our tests on a 10 Mbps connection, the page is ready in about 2 seconds on a phone and about 4 on a desktop. The rest loads quietly in the background, starting with what the visitor will see next.
  • Scrolling holds 60 fps with the CPU slowed 4× on desktop and 6× on mobile.
  • A lean build: under 150 KB of JavaScript, self-hosted fonts and no page builder.
